Handmade knives, Tournefeuille, France
The workshopwhere the bladetakes shape
Time, precision and know-how bring each knife into being. Folding, table, kitchen and outdoor knives are assembled, fitted and finished individually, to offer pieces of lasting quality, each one unique.
The workshop
Tradition in the service of design
At the heart of the workshop, every knife is built using the methods of artisan knifemaking. Assembled, fitted and finished by hand, it gets close attention at every stage.
L'Atelier de Kriss offers a wide range of materials for personalising each knife: fine woods, acrylics, resins, decorative patterns and fabric inlays, to create a piece that looks like you.
Whether it is a single knife or a small run, the workshop takes on personal projects as readily as corporate gifts, retirement presents or special occasions. An engraving station personalises blades with a first name, a logo, a signature or a motif. The workshop is also equipped for digital design and file conversion, which guarantees that a model can be reproduced exactly when several pieces are wanted.
Visitors are welcome at the workshop in Tournefeuille, by appointment, for one-to-one guidance on their project.

The knives
Four families, one way of working
Each family answers a specific use. The care that goes into the build does not change.

Design and digitising
From idea to finished product
Beyond bench work, L'Atelier de Kriss brings its design-office experience to bespoke knifemaking projects.
- Digitising your project
- Digitising is the first step in turning an idea into a file you can manufacture from: starting from a dimensioned sketch, an existing drawing, or a blade measured up by hand.
- File delivery
- Files are supplied in the format you need, most often DXF, with a technical sheet carrying your company's or your project's title block.
